Removal and Installation
-Airbag Crash Sensors 
-Front Airbag Crash Sensor

Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity. For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin

Removing
– Open hood. 
– Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Refer to Electrical Equipment:Removal and Installation-27. 
– Disconnect electrical connector on crash sensor. 
– Remove bolts -2-(quantity: 2). 
– Remove front airbag crash sensor. 
Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Note the following:

Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

– Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. Refer to Electrical Equipment:Removal and Installation-27.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.

Front Side Airbag Crash Sensor 
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.
Follow the safety precautions for front side airbag crash sensors (pressure sensors).
Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity . For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Driver side: Driver Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G179-
Passenger side: Front Passenger Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G180-

Removing
– Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Refer to Electrical Equipment:Removal and Installation-27.
– Remove door trim. Refer to Front Door Trim.
– Disconnect electrical connector -4-on crash sensor.
– Remove the screws -1-and -3-
– Remove crash sensor for front side airbag.

Installation
To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Note the following: For proper crash sensor (pressure sensor) function, ensure door does not leak. All components (for example, cover, speaker, door trim) must be installed correctly. The door trim panel clips seal the system. Replace the clips, if necessary.

Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

– Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. Refer to Electrical Equipment:Removal and Installation-27.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.

Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor 
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

Driver side: Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor (on Driver side) -G256-
Front passenger side: Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor (on front Passenger side) -G25

Removing
– Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Refer to Electrical Equipment:Removal and Installation-27. 

Without Side Airbag:
– Remove lower C-pillar trim. Refer to Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag.

With Side Airbag:
– Remove rear side airbag.

All: 
– Disconnect electrical connector on crash sensor. 
– Remove bolts -2-(quantity: 2).
– Remove rear side curtain airbag crash sensor

Installation 
To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Note the following:

Without Side Airbag: 
– Install lower C-pillar trim. Refer to Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag. With Side Airbag:

With Side Airbag: 
– Install rear side airbag

Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

– Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. Refer to Electrical Equipment:Removal and Installation-27.
